Yosemite Falls
Here’s a photo from a recent trip to Yosemite. When we arrived, the valley was dry and there was barely any snow on the mountain tops. By the end of the weekend, the park was covered in white. It was truly a winter wonderland!
Road to the Redwoods
Just returned from a wonderful weekend in the Santa Cruz area. The highlight of the get-away was definitely camping at Big Basin Redwoods State Park. Although the weather wasn’t great (lots of rain), exploring the forest was amazing. Here are a few shots from that trip. Can’t wait to go back!!
Holy cannoli, check out the size of this “ultra large format camera.”
It’s a DIY camera made to shoot onto 14”x36” X-ray film, and the photos from it are gorgeous.
This is pretty amazing.
True Love
These are a few photos from this past weekend with Jessica and her new horse, Storm. Storm is a 5 year Thoroughbred mare with the sweetest face and an equally sweet personality. So happy for Jess that her dream of having her very own horse has finally come true.
A little poem to all you moms. Happy Mother’s Day!
A Mother’s Smile
There never was a fonder smile than mother’s smile,
no softer touch than mother’s touch.
So sleep awhile and know she loves you more than “much.”
So more than “much,” much more than “all.”
Though tender words, these do not speak of love at all,
nor how we fall and mother’s there,
nor how we reach from nightmares in the ticking night
and she is there to hold us tight.
There never was a stronger back than mother’s back,
that held our weight and lifted us, when we were small,
and bore us till we reached the gate,
then held our hands that first bright mile till we could run,
and did, and flew.
But, oh, a mother’s tender smile will leap and follow after you!

Bamboo Forest
One of the things I love most about photography is when I have my camera, time stands still and I’m able to see things I would normally miss. Whether it’s a tiny pebble in a stream or a single leaf clinging to a branch, looking through the lens of my camera opens up a magical world. So often we get caught up in our busy lives, rushing around always looking forward. Breathe deep and slow down. Look up, look down. You just might find a treasure waiting to be found.
